This App records video, captures data, and helps with tracking down landing location when installed in a high powered (G and higher motor) hobby rocket.
Warning:Launching rockets with a phone onboard is risky and a mishap could destroy the phone! Make sure you read the entire first Help section in App.
When I started writing this App, it was not my intention to make a publicly available version. However, in the past year I have continued to enhance and add features for my personal use. Then, I noticed it would not take much more time to create a rich App for everyone to use and benefit from. I hope you enjoy using this App, quite a bit of late night hours have been put into its construction.
Before going further, it is recommended that you enable Find My iPhone service, as extra insurance to be able to locate your rocket after landing. Confirm it is properly setup before continuing.
Limitations:
Gs: iPhone 5 and 6 can only capture up to 8 Gs on any given axis. The iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 can only capture up to 2 Gs on any given axis. You can increase the Gs captured by tilting the phone, so that the Gs are distributed between multiple axis.
Yaw, Pitch, Roll: The iPhone 3GS is not advanced enough to have this data.
Barometer: Only the iPhone 6 and newer are equipped with a barometer. With a barometer, you get much better and higher resolution altitude reporting that what the GPS reports. Currently, this value only updates once a second. Im hoping Apple extends their interface to allow me to change that to a faster resolution.
